2026 世界盃 將於 2026 年 6 月 展開賽程。開幕賽事 預計由 墨西哥與南非交手，並在 6 月 12 日 於阿茲特克體育場舉行。同一天稍後，南韓對決捷克。接下來一天，還有加拿大 VS 波士尼亞、美國 VS 巴拉圭等首輪比賽。
在小組分組上，A 組 包含 墨西哥、南非、南韓與捷克；B 組 則由 加拿大、波士尼亞、卡達與瑞士；C 組 則由 巴西、摩洛哥、海地及蘇格蘭構成。包括 巴西、法國、阿根廷、西班牙、英格蘭與德國等傳統強隊 皆已完成分組。
晉級淘汰賽階段 將於 7 月初 正式進行，16 強賽 將於 7 月 4 日 開始，而冠軍戰預定於 7 月 19 日 舉辦，並誕生 2026 世界盃冠軍隊伍。
從過往戰績來看，墨西哥和南非曾在 2010 年世界盃 碰面，最終以 1:1 平局收場，雙方仍無勝場差距。
此外，越位、黃牌、紅牌、VAR 與點球等規則，也是觀眾理解比賽的重要基礎，相關討論熱度不減。
